GOVERNMENT
City Government: Uintah City has a mayor-council form of government, with an elected mayor and four city council members. Planning Commissioners, Board of Adjustment Member, and other committee members are appointed by the City Council.
The mayor and two council members are elected to four-year, non-partisan terms and two council members are elected to two-year, non-partisan terms.
Citizens are welcome to review city ordinances, minutes of city meetings, and talk to city officials about current or upcoming issues. Citizens are always welcome to attend and offer input at public meetings. The agendas for upcoming meetings are usually posted at the city offices during the week before the meeting. Public hearings are also listed in the legal section of the Standard Examiner.
Council Meetings: The city council generally meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. If you wish to make a request or present an item to the City Council, please contact the City a minimum of one week prior to the meeting.
Board of Adjustment: The board of adjustments does not meet on a regular schedule. If a business matter is scheduled to be discussed they will meet as needed. For information or questions regarding the board, please contact the City office.
Planning Commission: The planning commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. To present an item to the commission, please contact the Planning Commission Chair, Janet Thorsted at (801) 479-5911 for scheduling.
