Pat and I have lived in Uintah since 1994. We bought property and built our home at 1887 E 6450 S in the Rice subdivision. When we moved from Roy, we brought with us our 5 sons, who have since married and have families of their own. Fortunately for us, they all live within 25 miles, so we can still enjoy them and our 13 grandchildren.
I retired from Associated Food Stores in 2012 after a 50 year career in the food business, specializing in Meat and Seafood and their procurement, distribution, and marketing. I have served as a member of the Uintah Planning Commission, and have gotten to know our city and many wonderful people through the years.
Several years ago, I approached Mayor Craig Kendell and Mike Keyes, who was the U-Day chairman at the time , about starting a Salmon Dinner as part of the U-Day celebration. I felt that we needed something to bring us all together at least once a year. With the help of a wonderful group of volunteers who enjoy helping year after year, the Salmon Dinner has become an enjoyable part of U-Day, where friends and neighbors of all ages can come to our historic park and bowery and have a great meal together, and enjoy the U-Day celebration each year.
I enjoy my responsibilities on the City Council. I love Uintah with all of it's rich history. Uintah truly is a great place to live!
