Weber-Morgan Health Department will kick off its 2018 flu-prevention season with a drive-thru flu clinic, October 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the health department parking lot, 477 23rd Street in downtown Ogden.
Cost is $30 for each injectable shot and $59 for the high-dose quadrivalent vaccine recommended for those over 65. Most insurances cover the cost of the vaccine so participants are encouraged to bring their insurance and Medicare/Medicaid cards with them.
Participants who roll in and roll up their sleeves will also help exercise the health department’s plans for setting up emergency medication dispensing sites. This includes mobilizing department staff and the all-volunteer Medical Reserve Corps, a group of local residents and medical professionals who have trained to respond during an emergency.
For more information or questions regarding the flu vaccine or insurance coverage, please see www.webermorganhealthdepartment.org,or call 801-399-7250 to speak to a nurse, or listen to our recorded immunization hotline at 801-399-7777.
